A documentary worth seeing (if you like Leonardo DiCaprio or not) with a serious message. I think we all need to watch it, share it with our children and ask them what they think. We all know the urgency and it is up to all of us. To consume differently, to think of what we buy, how we eat, how we get our power, the leaders we vote for.
To think about what we can do personally and as a community. What can you change in your daily habits to contribute to a smaller ‘foot print’ and inspire others? I do believe small things can make a difference. At least as a start, to make a move, to play a role, to take our own responsibility as well. Very small… yes. I believe ‘small is beautiful’, even if we see and realise that things need to shift on the macro level as well.
Are you into a 40 day challenge? Cut down on your meat consumption! Eat vegan at least half of the week or 40 days in a row! You can do it. There are so many great plant based recipes out there. You will discover how easy it can be and how well you will feel. And if you like some nice recipes to keep going, please let me know.
One thing I will do is to make sure I will not buy any products which has palm oil (except the ones which have a sustainability label). So don’t buy Doritos for example! It is incredible to see how 80% of the rainforests are gone. And still today, forests are being destroyed to make way for massive palm oil plantations. I have been in Borneo a couple of years ago and saw it myself. And still, I cannot grasp what it has meant for the forest and the wild life.

To get inspired in our leadership I like to share the work of
John O’Donohue, the late Irish teacher and poet, from his book,
To Bless the Space Between Us.
FOR ONE WHO HOLDS POWER
May the gift of leadership awaken in you as a
vocation,
Keep you mindful of the providence that calls you to
serve.
As high over the mountains the eagle spreads its
wings,
May your perspective be larger than the view from
the foothills.
When the way is flat and dull in times of gray
endurance,
May your imagination continue to evoke horizons.
When thirst burns in times of drought,
May you be blessed to find the wells.
May you have the wisdom to read time clearly
And know when the seed of change will flourish.
In your heart may there be a sanctuary
For the stillness where clarity is born.
May your work be infused with passion and creativity
And have the wisdom to balance compassion and
challenge.
May your soul find the graciousness
To rise above the fester of small mediocrities.
May your power never become a shell
Wherein your heart would silently atrophy.
May you welcome your own vulnerability
As the ground where healing and truth join.
May integrity of soul be your first ideal.
The source that will guide and bless your work.
